It’s been a busy start to the year for South Australia’s property market with a surge in new listings recorded. And some homes have caught buyers’ attention more than others.
New data by realestate.com.au has revealed the top 10 most viewed listings on their site for the past 12 months to the end of February.
From a mega mansion, a multimillion-dollar home that’s also sustainable to an ultimate resort-style entertainer’s paradise near the beach, these homes have raked in hundreds of thousands of views.
While some are located in sought-after suburbs, others have been lovingly restored and, not surprisingly, snapped up by buyers in no time.
Here are the top 10 most viewed homes in South Australia so far:
1. 178-180 Old Mount Barker Road, Aldgate
Located in Aldgate in the beautiful Adelaide Hills, Chateau Avalon is the most viewed property in the last 12 months and for good reason.
Designed and built by a German engineer, the majestic property comprises of six main interconnected circular towers on more than a hectare of landscaped grounds.
A standout feature of the property includes the use of Carey Gully sandstone throughout, ensuring a sense of natural warmth and solidity.
The five-bedroom, six-bathroom house features a statement double helix spiral staircase and timber balustrades that appears to float from the ground floor up to level one and two.
This most viewed listing amassed 84,051 views and sold in January this year.
2. 21 Whistler Avenue, Unley Park
Sold in October last year, the five-bedroom, two-bathroom home is the second most viewed property in SA garnering 60,202 views.
This historic Queen Anne residence dates back to 1915 and was lovingly restored by the owners including adding a modern extension.
The house also comes with a floodlit tennis court, a solar-heated swimming pool and a large wine cellar.
3. 37 Austral Terrace, Malvern
Set on the corner of Austral Terrace and Cambridge Terrace in the exclusive suburb of Malvern, this sandstone Queen Anne villa has charmed househunters.
The exquisitely restored character home has garnered 46,316 views.
The four-bedroom residence features character details throughout, including high ornate ceilings, cornices and stately original fireplaces.

This grand family home, located just above the Penfold winery, offers breathtaking views of the city. Featuring up to five bedrooms, or four and a home theatre, over its single level of living space, the home has raked in more than 34,000 views on realestate.com.au.

9. 24 Angus Street, Goodwood
This 1930s Tudor-style character home featuring contemporary interiors amassed 32,801 views.
Located in one of Adelaide’s much sought-after city-fringe suburbs, the home underwent renovations, completed in 2020, to cater for modern-day family living.
It has four spacious bedrooms, multiple living areas and three luxurious bathrooms.
10. 20 Angus Street, Goodwood
This four-bedroom, two-bathroom home exudes character.
The multiple living areas include a lounge room and family room, with a fireplace each, and a light-filled dining area.
